Moxie In Progress

March 12, 2008 at 3:42 pm (Crochet, by Cecelia)

moxie_sandalbottom.jpgmoxie_sandaltop.jpgmoxie_body.jpgI’m so glad I ripped out her pair of legs because these gams are so much better formed now that the stitch count is right. Count twice and crochet once! She’s almost done and then I can do all the embellishing details: necklace, purse, sequins… all the things that make girls nice!

Seal

seal_body.jpgseal_face.jpg Somehow this doesn’t quite look like the pattern – more torpedo-shaped rather than plump and cute. Gotta do it all over again. Practice makes perfect!

Felted Amigurumi Bear

March 5, 2008 at 5:06 pm (Crochet, by Mar)

bear_frnt_sm1.jpg bear_bk_sm1.jpg Here is teddy bear. He was crocheted using a 5.5mm hook and Paton’s Classic Merino wool. He was hand felted in hot water in a large bowl with dish soap. Scrubbing for about 10 minutes wearing rubber gloves. He was then rinsed in cold water, shaped then air dried. I just sewed the eyes and nose on this morning. I really like his tiny tail!

Before and after shots of teddy bear #2. teddy2_before.jpg teddy_2.jpg

So it turns out teddy bear #1 was a girl: Bea Bear! She’s a little chubby, but that’s what makes her cute! She eats a bit too many honey donuts late at night, so she’s rolly-poly Bea Bear!
