Fimo Feathers McGraw

November 23, 2009 at 9:45 am (Polymer Clay, by Cecelia)

I have a hard time letting go of “stuff” and one way I’ve been successful is to take a photo before tossing. I made this Feathers McGraw character in fimo from Nick Park’s animation The Wrong Trousers and loved adding the details like the wrinkle in his glove/comb hat. His sack was formed around the handle of my wooden spoon. He was a well-loved fridge magnet but has lost his legs and arm. It’s time to say good-bye Feathers!

dog bed

Bruce Lee’s new stylin’ dog bed.

I personalized his bed by stenciling his name with permanent fabric paint.

Now there’s no mistaking who’s cushy bed this is!

Cheap Blades for Fiskars 12″ Trimmer

November 20, 2009 at 1:19 pm (Top Shops, by Cecelia)

I love my Fiskars Trimmer (the new version is so distracting!) and was tingling with anticipation while getting home to see if this discontinued brand Maped blades would fit. It’s being discontinued at the DeSerres store on Main for just .99 cents (reg $13.49) – did I mention it’s 2 blades per pack? Needless to say I’m a happy camper cause it fit and did the job. They have this edge (shown on bottom of left photo of packaging) and an even edged wave as well – the next on my shopping list now that I know it fits.

dog jacket

November 14, 2009 at 7:27 am (Pet, Sewing, by Angela)

Here is my first attempt at making dog jackets. It’s made of some tough water resistant nylon lined with polar fleece.

Hopefully this will help Bruce Lee stay a little drier on those wet rainy days!

The stores sell them for about $30 and up. I made this for roughly $10. At that price I can still afford to make more jackets when he outgrows this one!

I still have to add the greetings on them, but right now I’m just enjoying “baking” them all. As for HOW did I make them??? Believe me, I’m kicking myself for not taking notes. I’m selling them at this weekend’s mini craft fair to make more room for new flavors.
